Language & etymology
What the name means.
Kyrios means lord, master or owner. The Greek Old Testament often uses it where the Hebrew text has YHWH, and the New Testament’s confession “Jesus is Lord” carries that scriptural weight.
Isopsephy
The numeric value.
Kappa 20 + Upsilon 400 + Rho 100 + Iota 10 + Omicron 70 + Sigma 200 = 800
Numeric value is a traditional interpretive practice; it is not the word’s etymology and does not establish doctrine.
Greek character
A devotional reflection.
Kyrios belongs to Greek, not Paleo-Hebrew. Its alphabetic values are included as Greek isopsephy rather than Hebrew gematria.
