Language & etymology
What the name means.
Yireh comes from ra’ah, “to see.” In Genesis 22, seeing to a need expresses provision. Abraham gives this name to the place, not a new personal name to God.
Gematria
The numeric value.
Yod 10 + He 5 + Vav 6 + He 5 + Yod 10 + Resh 200 + Aleph 1 + He 5 = 242
Numeric value is a traditional interpretive practice; it is not the word’s etymology and does not establish doctrine.
Paleo-Hebrew character
A devotional reflection.
These ancient Hebrew-script forms accompany a devotional meditation, not a historical translation or proof of etymology. Letter-picture associations are interpretive and do not establish doctrine.

The promise
What it reveals.
Provision invites trust, not a guarantee of wealth.
Supporting Scripture
Written in the Word.
“God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering… And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh.”
Genesis 22:8, 14
